Jenna & Art in Waterford, CA

Jenna & Art in Waterford, CA
Jenna and Art exchange vows on a lush family ranch in Waterford, CA.

Location: The groom's family ranch
Jenna and Art wanted to set both their ceremony and reception at Art‘s family ranch in Waterford. The Dry Creek Ranch has an orchard, sheltering almond and walnut trees, and a family history that made the site an easy one for the couple to love.
A majestic oak tree served as the site of the wedding ceremony. A string quartet played, and a friend of Art‘s family performed the Episcopal ceremony.
The setting also inspired their sage-green color scheme, and shades of ivory and cream for the attire provided the perfect contrast.
"We really did little to decorate the ranch, other than string the trees with tiny lights in the area of the orchard where our guests would be dining and cocktailing," Jenna says. As the cocktail hour ended and the guests sat at the long, rectangular tables for the family-style dinner, the sun began to set and the trees began to glow. Afterward, guests converged on the parquet dance floor that was edged in vintage lampposts. Says Jenna, "We literally danced the night away!"
Tiny lights, vintage lampposts, and a gorgeous setting sun cast a glow on Jenna and Art's detail-driven, at-home wedding.

THE DATE May 24

Jenna and Art carried on their long-distance relationship for as long as they could. The arrangement lasted just six months before Art proposed at a lodge in Park City, Utah. While Jenna soaked in the hotel room's huge, bubble-filled tub by candlelight, Art read her a favorite T. S. Eliot poem, "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," then presented her with a two-carat diamond ring. Shortly after, he found a position in sales management and moved from Utah to California to be with Jenna.
